If you want to know what’s coming to the dunes this winter, there’s one place to be in September. Last weekend, Del Amo Motorsports Group was right in the middle of it as an exhibitor. The 2026 Sand Sports Super Show took over the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, and it was a blast from start to finish.
The Sand Sports Super Show bills itself as the world’s largest dune and dirt sports expo, and it lives up to it. This year’s event brought more than 400 exhibitors to Costa Mesa for three days. The fairgrounds were packed with side-by-sides, sand rails, ATVs, long-travel suspension, lighting, wheels, tires, apparel, and just about every accessory a dune rider could want. A new Proving Grounds area, powered by King of the Hammers, let attendees get up close to serious performance machines. And the custom builds throughout the show were as wild as ever.
This year, DAMG brought one of the biggest booths at the show. It was packed all weekend with machines, gear, and a steady crowd of riders stopping in to talk about their next build, their next trip, or their next ride. A huge thank you to everyone who came by to say hello. Seeing so many familiar faces from our DAMG family, and meeting so many new ones, is what makes this show special for us.
The highlight of the weekend was giving away a brand-new Honda CRF110 to one lucky winner. Congratulations! We hope it’s the start of a lifetime of riding.
The side-by-side world keeps getting faster, smarter, and more capable. The big trend on the floor was bigger suspension travel, bigger tires, and more serious builds aimed at high-speed dune running.
Many of the brands on display are ones we carry at DAMG, including Can-Am, Polaris, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki, CFMOTO, Kymco, and Kayo. If something at the show caught your attention, stop by or give us a call. We can walk you through current availability, options, and accessories.
The show always lands right as Southern California’s dune season kicks off. We’re lucky to have some of the best riding in the country within a few hours’ drive.
The Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area, better known as Glamis, is the crown jewel of SoCal sand. It’s the largest mass of sand dunes in California, with some dunes rising around 300 feet, and it draws a huge riding community, especially on holiday weekends.
Ocotillo Wells SVRA near Borrego Springs has more than 85,000 acres of desert, including washes, canyons, mud hills, and dunes. That mix works great for both beginners and experienced riders on ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes.
Dumont Dunes sits about 40 miles north of Baker. It’s known for big bowls, steep climbs, and flowing transitions, which makes it a favorite for riders coming from the Inland Empire.
For something closer to Los Angeles, Hungry Valley SVRA near Gorman offers about 19,000 acres and more than 130 miles of trails for a wide range of skill levels.
When you want to get on the water, Lake Elsinore and Lake Perris are local favorites for personal watercraft.
Before you head out, check the current pass, fee, and registration requirements for the area you’re visiting. Imperial Sand Dunes and Dumont Dunes are managed by the Bureau of Land Management. Ocotillo Wells, Hungry Valley, and Lake Perris are run by California State Parks. Rules and seasons can change, so a quick check before each trip saves headaches.
Whether you’re shopping for a new machine, gearing up, or need your current ride serviced before the first trip out, our team is ready to help.
Thanks to everyone who came out to Costa Mesa and stopped by our booth. We’ll see you in the sand.
